Plywood
Plywood is nothing but several layers of wood sheets pressed together and glued with resin and covered with veneer to give it a nice finishing touch. It is one of the favorite materials used by lots of cabinet builders precisely because it is strong, durable, and can take quite a bit of abuse.
One of the characteristics of plywood is its resistance to humidity, thus a great choice for kitchen and bathroom cabinets, besides plywood is great when you need to use nails, staples and glue.
Compared with other available materials, plywood may be a little more expensive, and that would be its main cons, but it is definitely a great middle option between the cheapest and less resistant and the most expensive but higher maintenance materials. Plywood is good if your budget is not big but it is flexible, and you expect a good level of quality and performance from your cabinets.

It is clear that solid wood cabinets are generally a wish that many homeowners have, they are very versatile and offer several form and color options, to the delight of the client. If properly treated, solid wood can last very long and resist lots of damage, at the same time that fixing and renewing solid wood is sometimes more doable than doing so in other types of materials like MDF and even plywood. Customization is also a lot easier when we are working with solid wood.
Of course, one of the things that holds most budget minded people back at the time of having their kitchen and bathroom cabinets designed and built in solid wood, is the cost which tends to be higher than for some other materials, also the fact that it has to be treated with the right treatment and product, specially designed for wood, makes it maintenance higher.

High Gloss MDF
MDF or Medium Density Fiberboard is a material that came into life as a replacement for more expensive ones, made of a mix of wood fiber, resins and wax, MDF gives the cabinets and other pieces of furniture, a great look since it features a very smooth and homogeneous texture.
It is low maintenance and it can be repainted if you wish, plus it can be manufactured to produce large pieces making it virtually impossible to beat in its versatility at the time of designing and producing cabinet styles and size, at a lower price if compared with others, however like everything it also has its limitations, MDF is not very easy to fix, once installed you will most likely damage it irreparably if you need to move it, scratches, dents, and chips are almost impossible to remove using a traditional method like sanding or filling.
MDF is not too kin of high temperatures, it can stand humidity quite well but water is not an element that MDF can stand much, it can swell, deform and crack if exposed to water.
